Luis Enrique is happy to see things shaping up quite well for Barcelona ahead of the big games.
The next week is quite a challenging one for the Catalan giants as there are two fierce oppositions lined up to overpower them at Camp Nou.
Manchester City’s visit is scheduled first and then, it will be the turn of Real Madrid that will be coming over for the second Clasico of the season.
Versus City, Barcelona do not need anything more than a draw as they are already ahead in the tie having toppled the English Champions 2-1 in the first leg.
This margin could easily have been of two goals if Lionel Messi had not had a rare lapse in penalty which had come in the second half at Etihad, but, the Argentinean has ever since shown good form and the Barca management would hope that he is at the top of his game come Wednesday.
As far as the Clasico is concerned, it’s very, very important not just from rivalry point of view, but, also because it can have a huge impact on the Liga table this time around.
If Barcelona, which are currently the table leaders, emerge the winners, they would be 4 points clear at the top and it would almost be curtains for Madrid.
On the other hand though, a Madrid win would make them overtake Barca at the top spot.
Enrique, however, is taking first thing first and he is more worried about the City game at the moment than the Clasico.
Yesterday, the manager was quoted as saying, “Before we go into Clasico, we have to deal with City and that’s what we are thinking about. We are ahead yes, but, they are a World Class side and we know we are not going to have our way easy.”
