The French club Paris St Germain drawing against Barcelona is one of the standout features in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season. The newcomers to the big league will be facing against a team that has won this competition twice in the last five years. PSG midfielder Clement Chantome has said that him and his teammates cannot think about anything other than facing Barcelona in a few weeks time. Due to the investment from the Qatari owners, PSG have been able to build a strong team in the matter of a few years. The likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovich and Thiago Silva have made the French club extremely strong.
Clement Chantome is one of the unsung players at the club being a defensive midfielder. Even though the club are currently top of the French league table, Chantome has said that all the focus within the club is upon the match with Barcelona. The 25-year-old is expected to feature in the weekend’s clash with Montpelier, but he has said that the players have only Barcelona in their minds right now. Despite the hugely improved squad, PSG have found it difficult to open a sizeable advantage at the top of the league table. They only have a five-point advantage over second placed Lyon.
“It’s good for everyone that we can play this kind of exceptional fame. In the locker room, it’s about Barcelona. Everybody thinks about it. In the street, people stop us and tell us that that they even forget the Championship. As players, we have never received so many calls from friends to give them places,” said the 25-year-old defensive midfielder ahead of the weekend’s clash with Montpelier. He has been one of the important players at the club this season, and he has made 20 appearances in the league.
